Groundwork supports local community organizers in places where the fight isn't over one candidate or one election but over the survival of justice, equity — and democracy itself. From the Deep South to Appalachia and the Plains: We show up in the states progressives have gotten used to writing off and invest in the local leaders working year-round to reclaim power.
The Davis System:
- Managed Groundwork Grantee community and acted as primary point of contact for grantees, spearhead launch of monthly state grantee meetings & other support services, help lead 2023 granting cycles & strategize for grant expansion in coming years.
- Managed relationships and engaged with our growing network of partners, allies and other stakeholders in all four GWP focus states; helped develop internal systems for ongoing outreach and relationship management; collaborated with Program Manager & Executive Director on tracking, follow-up and communication with state networks.
- Worked to develop and support implementation of organizing initiatives, programming and events in GWP regions & provide strategic advice on continued expansion in Appalachia, the Deep South and the Plains.
- Expanded GWP's national reach in community organizing spaces by finding, researching, and connecting with new state and national groups; made introductions to community and civic leaders, stakeholders, donor prospects; and represented GWP at national or regional events.
- Provided strategic advice and feedback on Groundwork's Massachusetts programs, when available.
